Island Images: November 2012 [Part 2]

The Friends of ‘Iolani Palace and the Royal Guard of the Hawaii Air National Guard will commemorate King Kalakaua’s birthday on Friday at ‘Iolani Palace.  The palace is being decorated for the occasion with red, white and blue bunting and numerous Hawaiian flags reminiscent of decorations used during King Kalakaua’s birthday jubilee in 1886. A huge tent-like covering is also being erected in front of the palace. Margot Prusman snapped a photo during her lunch break after spotting the decorations.
