Island Images: Student Driving

Honolulu Police Officer Frances Maluenda put Waianae High School student Darrian Texeira-Tantay 17 and his driving instructor, Joseph Nielsen through a mock sobriety test while wearing "drunken vision" goggles. The goggles simulate the effect of intoxication by creating a double vision and were part of one segment of the Hawaii Department of Education 21st annual Student Driving Competition.
