The wait at sea

The debris was spotted by a U.S. Navy helicopter from the USS Ronald Reagan off the coast of Sendai, Japan, two days after the earthquake and tsunami struck the north of the country. About 1.5 million tons of debris stretches from the Philippines to Alaska.
