Island Images: Transit of Venus, June 5, 2012

The University of Hawaii Institute for Astronomy set up a variety of telescopes on the beach in Waikiki for the public to view the transit of Venus across the face of the sun. The Institute for Astronomy provided the telescopes, sun viewing filters and video taken from a live feed from telescopes on Mauna Kea on the Big Island and Haleakala on Maui.
