Scopes Monkey Trial site hosts festival, re-enactment

The Rhea County Courthouse in Dayton, Tenn., was the location of the 1925 landmark trial involving science teacher John Scopes, who was tried for violating a law prohibiting the teaching of evolution in public schools. The town hosts an annual festival marking the anniversary of the trial.
