Flooding hampers submarine in RIMPAC

Ships and submarines participating in exercise Rim of the Pacific naval maneuvers sailed in formation Friday, July 27, 2012 in waters around the Hawaiian islands. The lead ship is the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in the biennial exercise from June 29 to Aug. 3.
