U.S warship rescues Filipino fishermen from sinking
A Philippine Navy officer was silhouetted as he maneuvered his patrol vessel closer to the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS George Washington cruising off Manila Bay. The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS McCampbell, which is part of the USS George Washington Carrier Strike Group, rescued five stranded Filipino fishermen in international waters off the coast of the Philippines after their fishing boat allegedly started taking in water and nearly sank by the time they were discovered.
