Philippines rolls out welcome mat for U.S. warship

U.S. sailors from the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS George Washington boarded a ferry for a short liberty off Manila Bay in the Philippines today.The U.S. aircraft carrier group cruised through the disputed South China Sea last Saturday in a show of American power in waters that are fast becoming a focal point of Washington's strategic rivalry with Beijing.
