Report: Steps can help reduce preterm births
Helen Erece gazed upon her son Triton at the neonatal intensive care unit at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children. Triton, who was born 15 weeks premature, has been in the NICU for more than three weeks and is stable. An international coalition today said there are a handful of proven protections — and if the U.S. and other developed countries do a better job of using them, together they could keep 58,000 babies a year from being born too soon.
