Samoas under hurricane, flood, high-surf warnings

This NASA satellite infrared image shows then Tropical Storm Evan near American Samoa today before it strengthened to a hurricane. The strongest thunderstorms (purple) appear around the center of circulation and in a band of thunderstorms north and east of the center.
