Obama nominates Kerry for secretary of state

Senate Foreign Relations Chairman John Kerry, D-Mass., led a hearing on the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, where the ambassador three other Americans were killed Sept. 11. President Barack Obama today will nominate Sen. John Kerry as his next secretary of state, a senior administration official says, making the first move in a sweeping overhaul of his national security team heading into a second term.
