Philippine man kills 8 in shooting spree

Aniolina Caimol, 63, the grandmother of shooting victim Micaela Caimol, 7, cried after viewing her granddaughter inside a morgue of a private hospital in Kawit township, Cavite province, 10 miles south of Manila. A man who was apparently intoxicated fatally shot eight people, including a child who tried to shield herself behind seat cushions, before he was gunned down by police in a town near the Philippine capital, officials said today.
