China's island dispute moves 'wrong': Japan prime minister

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's spending package, announced today, includes plans a request to raise military spending for the first time in a decade - an increase partly aimed at beefing up monitoring and defenses around the disputed islands — called Senkaku in Japanese and Daioyu in Chinese — in the East China Sea, controlled by Japan but also claimed by China and Taiwan.
