2 Calif. sushi chefs charged with serving whale meat

A stranded humpback whale calf struggled in the shallows near the beach Jan. 14 near Puuikena Peninsula in east Oahu. A now-shuttered Southern California sushi restaurant and two of its chefs were indicted on conspiracy and other charges for allegedly serving illegal and endangered whale meat, authorities said today.
