Uptick in Indian weddings a boon for isle visitor industry
Male members of Gitika Ahuja and Rajeev Kaul’s families greeted each other as a sign of respect. Picking one another up signifies the greatest welcome and earns the most applause. The couple, who live in New York, brought more than 100 guests from their native India and across the world to their wedding in Kailua. “We love Hawaii. We wanted our wedding to be a large family reunion and a vacation for people,” said Ahuja, now Gitika Ahuja Kaul. “Having the wedding here ensured that only the people who really wanted to come attended.”
