American, US Airways announce $11 billion merger

A US Airways jet taxied past an American Airlines jet parked at the gate at Sky Harbor International Airport, in Phoenix. American Airlines and US Airways agreed today to merge in an $11 billion deal that would create the world's biggest airline.
