Bishop Museum hosts exhibit honoring WWII nisei soldiers
An exhibit on the Congressional Gold Medal that opens Saturday at Bishop Museum honors Japanese-American soldiers who fought during World War II. The six-week exhibit includes panel discussions and documentary films on the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team and Military Intelligence Service, which are among the most decorated units in U.S. military history. Herbert Yanamura, pictured, enlisted in the 442nd and later was assigned to the MIS.
