California earthquake packed unusually wide punch, experts say

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.7 struck Southern California at 6:55 a.m. Hawaii time, but did not pose a tsunami threat to Hawaii. The epicenter was located 12 miles southeast of Anza, Calif.
