Philippine top court halts contraceptives law
Protesters lit candles and displayed placards during a rally Tuesday at the Philippine Supreme Court in Manila to protest the highest court's issuance of a 120-day status quo ante order or a four-month delay of the implementation of the Reproductive Health Law which was signed by President Benigno Aquino III in December of last year. The protesters accused the 10 justices of the Supreme Court to be held "accountable to the 15 women and children who die each day" allegedly due to the non-implementation of the Reproductive Health Law.
