Maui-Las Vegas in the cards
Madison Moye Emerson, 5 months old, slept like a baby as Local 5 workers and supporters crossed Kalakaua Avenue yesterday during a march to the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort and Spa. According to Local 5 spokesman Cade Watanabe, 800 workers signed up for the march. The contracts for about 6,500 union hotel workers expire at the end of this month. “We need to be able to secure good middle-class jobs in our community,” said Watanabe.
