» The Kaimuki Orchid Show is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 30 and 31, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Star of the Sea cafeteria. The Home & Garden calendar on Page D8 Monday said the event was this weekend at Kalani High School. The online version has been corrected.

» The Litchman family of Honolulu has donated $150,000 to fund University of Hawaii research into neurodegenerative disorders and mental illness. The donation will help fund various projects, including Dr. Christina Bell's research on Alzheimer's disease. A "Shining Stars" item on Page B2 Monday implied that the donation was solely going to Bell's project.
