The St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii, which raises funds for programs of St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii, has received $19,000 in grants to support home health care, hospice and homeless outreach services. Donations came from the Pettus Foundation, which awarded $10,000; the Catholic Women's Guild, $3,000; and the Central Pacific CATCH Fund, $6,000, sponsored by Central Pacific Bank and the KSSK Posse.

The Schuler Family Foundation donated more than $1 million to local charities in 2009. The donations, ranging from $1,000 to $50,000, were given to programs focusing on the education, enlightenment and care of youth, health care and animal welfare.
