Boy Scouts of America

POSTED:

For Boy Scouts in Hawaii and in the United States, 2010 marks 100 years of Scouting. Each Sunday throughout the year, the Star-Advertiser will present historic photographs and factoids to help commemorate the centennial.

Hawaii Scouts are national winners: Venture Crew 123 of Kaimuki won the National Rifle Association's 2010 National Air Gun Team Championship & Training Summit in June in Albuquerque, N.M. Congratulations to Gold Medalist Keanu Paikai, Silver Medalist Kristy Inouye and Bronze Medalist Christopher Lam.

Boy Scout Troop 33 of Manoa won the video contest at this year's National Jamboree. They produced a two-minute video explaining why automatic external defibrillators are so important.
