The University of Hawaii marching band's version of the "Hawaii Five-0" theme is one of 17 entered in a $25,000 contest by CBS -- and you get to weigh in on who wins.
Marching bands from all over the country had their version videotaped and uploaded. Some performed in front of packed stadiums -- the Hawaii band's performance was shot at the season-opening game with USC -- while others were done on empty lawns.
The voting period runs through Oct. 4. ("Hawaii Five-0" will air locally at 9 p.m. Mondays on KGMB.)
Entries will be judged on musicianship, band choreography, originality of performance and an evaluation of the performance on the whole. However, CBS also has the option of including public balloting in the selection process.

Gwen Nakamura, assistant band director at UH, is optimistic, even though the video was put together quickly.
The UH band has performed the "Five-0" theme at almost every home game since shortly after the original series began in 1968.
"We hope our chances are good," she said. "There are some pretty creative videos out there, and there are some that I call bizarre. They're all different."
