A 70-foot banyan tree crushed a Honda minivan yesterday on Oahu Avenue in Manoa. Owner Jessica FitzGerald, a University of Hawaii sophomore, told KITV she was walking to the vehicle when the tree toppled. “I heard a creaking noise and it fell over in slow motion,” she said. “It was really surreal.”
