Police arrested a 62-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing her friend and housemate, a 50-year-old woman, multiple times yesterday afternoon in Mililani.
Police said the two women had been drinking while both were riding in the back seat of a car on their way home from the store when an argument occurred. The older woman got upset and allegedly began stabbing the younger woman with a small folding pocketknife, police said.
Paramedics responded to a 3:06 p.m. call at Wailawa Street. The victim was taken to a trauma center in serious condition with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds, said Bryan Cheplic, city Emergency Services Department spokesman.
Police arrested the suspect at the women's Mililani home at 3:15 p.m. on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.
The older woman had been found guilty Sept. 28, 2009, of second-degree terroristic threatening, a misdemeanor, and two counts of third-degree promoting dangerous drugs in 1991.
Police are looking for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted and kidnapped an 18-year-old woman in the Kaaawa area.
Police said the woman told police the man sexually assaulted her at 11:15 a.m. Saturday. The man is described as being between 20 and 25 years old. Police have opened a first-degree sexual assault and kidnapping case.
Police arrested one of two male suspects early yesterday morning who allegedly burglarized a 33-year-old woman's Salt Lake home and took her motorcycle.
Police said a neighbor saw the two men leaving the woman's garage on her motorcycle at 2:15 a.m., so he called police.
Officers found the 22-year-old male suspect nearby, and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree burglary and auto theft, but the second suspect was not located.
Police are searching for three men who attempted to rob a 28-year-old Hawaiian Ocean View Estates man.
Hawaii County police said the man was walking on Lehua Lane in Kau on Saturday when three men approached him, asked for marijuana and money and tried to reach into his pockets. The man fell during the struggle and one suspect cut his left shoulder with a sharp object, then all three fled on foot, police said.
The man was taken to Pahala Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Charles Adams, 326-4646, ext. 262, or police at 935-3311.
