Police said an officer noticed a vehicle with what appeared to be car trouble on the side of the road in Wahiawa. A check of the license plates showed the car had been stolen.
Noticing the police car, the suspects jumped into the stolen car and sped toward Haleiwa, police said.
The car crashed into a wall near Mahaulu Lane and the suspects, a 22-year-old Waialua man and 22-year-old Wahiawa man, ran away, but were arrested nearby at about 7:45 a.m., police said.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the beating and kidnapping of three teenagers from a bus stop in Kalihi on Monday night.
Police said the teenagers, ages 16, 17 and 18, were at the bus stop when two men in their 20s drove up in a dark pickup truck and threatened them unless they got into the truck bed.
Police said the teenagers were assaulted for two hours until they were able to escape and call police at about 10:50 p.m.
The victims were able to identify one of the alleged kidnappers in a photo lineup. Officers arrested the man about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday without incident.
