Waikiki stabbing sends 2 to hospital

Two men were taken to the Queen's Medical Center in serious condition yesterday afternoon after they were stabbed at an apartment complex on Lemon Road in Waikiki.

Fire and paramedic crews were called to the complex at about 2 p.m.

Two men, ages unknown, were taken in serious condition to a hospital, a city Department of Emergency Serv­ices spokes­man said.

Police said a third man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder.

UH student charged in sexual assault

A 19-year-old male University of Hawaii student was charged with sexually assaulting a woman at Frear Hall on the Manoa campus early Thursday.

The victim, 18, is here from the mainland visiting friends, campus security said. She struck up a conversation with the man in the courtyard at about 2 a.m. and then went with him to his dormitory room, campus security said.

The suspect was identified with the help of the victim's friends. Logan Anderson was charged yesterday with first-degree sex assault. He was released on $50,000 bail.

Robber hits victim with metal object

An senior was robbed of his wallet Thursday night while walking on the sidewalk in the industrial section of Wai­pahu.

The victim, 78, said he was struck in the head by an undescribed metal object while walking along Leo­nui Street near the Leo­ole Street intersection at about 10:20 p.m. He was taken to Hawaii Medical Center West, where he was treated and released.

The robber is believed to be a man in his 30s.


Tattooed man being sought over warrants

Big Island police are asking for the public's help in locating a 23-year-old Puna man wanted for outstanding warrants.

Jason Shawn K. Chang has two outstanding warrants for contempt of court.

Chang is described as being part Chinese and Hawaiian, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 140 pounds, with a thin build, tan complexion, short black hair and light mustache. He has numerous tattoos, including "CHANG" in large letters on the underside of his right arm, "PUNA" on the underside of his left arm, "Puna Boy" on his upper right arm and a cross on the back of his right calf.
