Boy is arrested in choking
A 14-year-old boy who allegedly choked another student at an unidentified Aiea school was arrested Thursday at 11:45 a.m., police said.
The teenager allegedly choked a 12-year-old boy until he was unconscious at about 9:15 a.m. Wednesday. Police said they located the suspect the next day and arrested him.
Shooting suspect is sought
A man police say might have been an innocent bystander was in the hospital in good condition after being shot while standing in the parking lot of Aiea Bowl early yesterday morning.
Police were still looking for a suspect. They have a "person of interest" whom they want to talk to. Police were also still waiting to interview the victim, who is under heavy sedation with a shoulder wound, about the shooting, which occurred at 1:30 a.m.
The shooter apparently got into an argument earlier in the bowling alley with some other people and was asked to leave by security personnel, police said. After leaving with his friends, the suspect was apparently still upset by the confrontation, went to his car and took out a gun and shot the victim, who was standing by his car, according to police, who added that the suspect apparently does not know the victim.
Man allegedly damages car
Police arrested a 57-year-old man on suspicion of criminal property damage Thursday for allegedly throwing a rock at a 49-year-old man's car in Waimanalo last week.
Police said the incident happened at 8:35 a.m. April 21 when the suspect ran into the street to confront the victim. Police said the 57-year-old man stopped the 49-year-old man's vehicle and threw a rock through the windshield, causing broken glass to fall onto the victim.
