Services Saturday for ex-mayor

Services for former Hawaii County Mayor Stephen Kei Yamashiro will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary in Hilo.
Yamashiro, 69, of Hilo, formerly of Honolulu, also was an attorney and former county councilman. He also was a Hawaii National Guard veteran.
Yamashiro died May 24 in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu.
He is survived by wife Della and two nephews.
A celebration of life will be at 4 p.m. at the mortuary. The family asks that casual attire be worn and no flowers be given.
Monetary offerings will be donated to the University of Hawaii Foundation's Yamashiro Family Scholarship Fund.
