Woman robbed, beaten in Waikiki

Police were looking for three suspects Monday in connection with a robbery and beating of a 28-year-old woman Sunday night in Waikiki.

At about 8:20 p.m. Sunday, the woman was sitting on a bench when she was confronted by two women in their 20s. The women allegedly assaulted the victim and took her purse, police said.

The victim chased the suspects to a vehicle driven by a man, also in his 20s. The vehicle drove several blocks and pulled into a driveway. The woman caught up with the vehicle but was beaten by its occupants, who then drove off in an unknown direction.

The woman was hospitalized in stable condition. The assailants are sought on suspicion of robbery and attempted murder.
