Corrections

» The new anchorwoman joining KITV4 News in September is Yunji de Nies. Her first name was misspelled in TheBuzz on Page B6 Wednesday.

» Officer Chad Morimoto was the 14th Honolulu Police Department solo bike officer killed while on duty since 1923. A story on Page A1 Tuesday said he was the 13th.

Clarification

» The Heeia Kea General Store and Deli remains open, despite the departure of chef Mark Noguchi. An "Off the News" item on Page A8 July 17 stated that his clientele would need to visit "before he closes up shop," giving the impression that the business was closing.

In your Editorial endorsing Candidates in West Oahu House races, you got Karen Awana's leadership role wrong. Rep. Awana chairs the International Affairs Committee and NOT the Economic Development Committee. Her committee may well have been carved out of the Economic Development Committee's jurisdiction in the last House organization but Maui's Angus McKelvey (D-Lahaina) chairs the House Economic Development committee (ably vice-chaired by Manoa's Isaac Choy).
