Lt. Gov. Shan Tsutsui will be acting governor for the next few weeks as Gov. Neil Abercrombie travels out of state for meetings and vacation.

The governor's office said Wednesday Abercrombie is in Los Angeles and New York to meet with credit agencies about the state's economy and fiscal condition.

After the meetings wrap up on Friday, the governor will join his wife in France for personal travel.

The governor is expected back in Hawaii on Oct. 11.

Love France - lot of our beloved Waikiki luxury goods in our upscale designer boutiques come from France. French business believes in capitalism even while the government leans to the left due to the power of unions........

I am surprised he could not find some reason to visit credit agencies in France to discuss the rail project so that travel to and from his vacation could be funded by taxpayers.

Smart move by Neil to make an "official" visit to New York because he got the taxpayers to pay most of his air fare to and from France.
