PORTLAND, Ore. » A federal grand jury has indicted eight Portland men accused of transporting women across state lines to engage in prostitution.

One of the men is Mark "Meezilini" Miles, who is accused of taking Ivanice "Ivy" Harris to Hawaii last spring. The 29-year-old Harris was killed during the visit, and a Marine is awaiting trial on a murder charge.

Harris was last seen outside a Waikiki bar May 16. Her body was found by a family four days later in kiawe brush near Yokohama Bay on the Waianae Coast.

The indictments unsealed Monday stem from an FBI-led enforcement called "Operation Traffic Stop." Besides Hawaii, prosecutors say the prostitutes were taken to Alaska, Idaho, Minnesota and Nevada.

Also charged were Steven "Flawless" Huffman, Jorge "Baby Slim" Ortega, Jermaine "Chocolate" Hankins, Michael "Mackin Mike" Willis, DeShawne "The Don" Howard, Samuel "Sammega" Howard and Camillio "Killa" Carradine.

Why print the nicknames of these mutts? Use the name their mama gave them, not the cute little handles they make up to make up to sound tough.

It's coming out now. Escort here on her "birthday vacay" and with her "boyfriend". Oh and the cute nicknames? Leave them out next time, don't impress me much. Besides they will garner "cute" nicknames when they go "away".

We had guyz like dis move into my building in Waikiki. They rented a second unit for the "gurlz". The guys be Bloods. Condo owners worked with HPD and our new arrivals did not "feel the aloha" and moved out. But not before "selling the franchise" to their rival gang the Crips. Too funny. The Crips also did not feel the aloha and moved out. I have no knowledge if the "franchise fee" was returned. "Evil prevails when good people do nothing".

Hawaii has strong laws against human trafficking. This must be stopped. Prostitution trafficking and labor traffic cannot continue on without law enforcement action. Hundreds of illegal fisherman being held captive at piers 16-18 and 37-38 as we speak. Customs and Border Patrol along with State Harbors Division serve the will of the fishing industry. These fisherman are captives and are not allowed to leave. Shame.
