» Age: 69

» Family: Married, four children

» Background: A former mayor of Seoul, Lee was elected president in 2007. Known for his tough stand against North Korea and as more pro-America than his predecessor.


President Benigno Aquino

» Age: 51

» Family: Unmarried, no children

» Background: The son of democracy advocate Benigno S. Aquino Jr. and former President Corazon C. Aquino, he was elected president last year. He has worked on improving his nation's economy and fighting political corruption.


President Dmitry Medvedev

» Family: Married, one child

» Background: Elected in 2008, he is overshadowed by the former president and current prime minister, Vladimir Putin. He plans to step aside next year so that Putin can regain the presidency.


Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda
