Two workers were injured in an electrical accident today at the Lihue Wastewater Treatment Facility.
About 11:10 a.m., the workers were installing a surge protection system when the accident occurred. Their condition is unknown at this time, according to county spokeswoman Mary Daubert in a news release.
The men are employed by United Electric LLC, an Oahu-based company hired as a subcontractor for Harvey Brothers Construction Co. to conduct upgrades at the treatment facility.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
