Mo-ped driver in critical condition after Moiliili crash

Police arrested a 26-year-old man for negligent injury after the car he was driving struck a mo-ped in Moiliili Thursday night sending the 54-year-old mo-ped driver to Queen's Medical Center in critical condition with severe head injuries.

The accident occurred at 7:30 p.m. at Isenberg and South King streets.

Police said the mo-ped was headed mauka on Isenberg when it collided with a 1993 green Honda Civic which was making a left turn on Isenberg street onto South King Street.

Police said the man driving the mo-ped was not wearing a helmet.

The Honda diver was released pending further investigation.
