Tip leads to arrest of Laumaka escapee

A Laumaka Work Furlough Center escapee had only a few hours of freedom yesterday after he failed to return from a work release program, police said.

The 32-year-old man was supposed to return at about 10:30 a.m. Police said an anonymous tip helped them arrest the escapee at 6:45 p.m. at 2288 Kalena Drive in Kalihi Valley.
