8 rescued from boat stuck on reef off Kahala

Honolulu Fire Department rescue crews retrieved eight people from a boat that ran aground this evening on a reef off Kahala.
The vessel ran aground in an area fronting the Waialae Country Club shortly after 6:30 p.m. An HFD helicopter monitored the vessel while a fire boat and rescue crew made its way to the reef to retrieve the passengers.
They were reported safely ashore at 7:45 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
