The Coast Guard and Honolulu firefighters conducted joint cliff-rescue exercises yesterday near Sandy Beach.
Rescue crews lowered training mannequins onto a cliff at Koko Head Crater and hoisted them back into the helicopters, simulating an actual rescue, the Coast Guard said.
The exercises help the two agencies improve their combined response capabilities to the public.
