Hawaii Attorney General Mark Bennett will soon become a partner and director at the Honolulu law firm of Starn O'Toole Marcus & Fisher.

Bennett said Monday that he will take most of December off and then start work in January as a specialist in complex trial and appellate litigation at the 25-lawyer firm.

Bennett has been attorney general since January 2003, almost the entire two terms Gov. Linda Lingle who appointed him to the post.

Previously, he was a litigation partner in the Honolulu firm of McCorriston Miller Mukai MacKinnon LLP.

Bennett said he will spend some of December traveling in Europe and on a cruise with his wife.
