Kauai police are investigating the discovery of human bones in remote Kalalau Valley.
A county news release said a team of detectives and personnel from the state Department of Land and Natural Resources flew into the valley around 10 yesterday morning to investigate.
According to police, the bones were old and weathered with no articles of clothing attached.
The bones were brought to police headquarters in Lihue for processing and documentation.
Arrangements are being made to send the remains to a lab on Oahu tomorrow for possible identification.
