Incident at Kealakehe High leads to lockdown

A campus lockdown occurred at Kealakehe High School on the Big Island today after a man allegedly brandished a knife to a security guard.

Police were called at 9:16 a.m. and arrested him.

The intruder displayed a knife when notified by a school security guard that he was on campus without permission, police said.

Police arrested the Hookena resident on suspicion of trespassing, terroristic threatening, promoting a detrimental drug, promoting a dangerous drug, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

The man was taken to Kona Community Hospital, after complaining of pain to his back and a minor laceration to his ear from the struggle with the security guard.
