A 37-year-old Makiki man allegedly threatened a neighbor with a machete, stole a golf club and then fought with police who tried to arrest him last night, police said.

The man, who lives at 1125 Young St., showed up at a neighbor's door last night at about 10 p.m. and threatened the 63-year-old man with a machete, police said. The suspect left and then returned and allegedly stole a golf club, police said.

The victim called police and officers located the suspect in a common area of the apartment complex. Police said the 37-year-old man physically resisted arrest, but was eventually booked for burglary, terroristic threatening and resisting arrest.
