Forecasters predict light, scattered showers through New Year's Eve.

"The heavy rain a few days ago is over for now," said meteorologist Bob Burke.

Light, scattered windward mauka showers are predicted through Friday for all islands with some isolated showers over the Leeward areas.

Winds of less than 15 miles per hour are expected on New Year's Eve.

Heavy rains battered Oahu and Kauai earlier this week, prompting closures of some roadways due to flooding. On Monday, Hanalei Bridge and Kekaha Landfill in Kauai temporarily closed until the rainfall subsided.
