The Hawaii women's basketball team picked up its first Western Athletic Conference victory of the season with a 69-53 defeat of Boise State tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.
UH (7-15, 1-8 WAC) snapped a nine-game overall losing streak and avenged a 69-63 loss in Boise, Idaho, last month, but remained in last place in the nine-team league.
Boise State (11-11, 2-6) shot 26.3 percent from the field in dropping its fourth straight game. Sophomore forward Lauren Lenhardt, who torched UH for a BSU-record 37 points in the previous meeting, was held to two points on 0-for-9 shooting from the field.
The Wahine had last won on Dec. 29 against Cal State Bakersfield in a nonconference game.
Senior point guard Keisha Kanekoa led the Wahine with 17 points, while freshman wing Shawna Kuehu added 15 points and senior guard Megan Tinnin 12.
