Soldier from Palau dies of wounds sustained in Afghanistan

A 22-year-old soldier from Palau died Monday from wounds he received when his Army unit from Kentucky was attacked by insurgents using grenades in Afghanistan.

The Pentagon today reported that Spc. Sonny J. Moses, of Koror, Palau, died in Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany.

He was at Forward Operating Base Gamberi in Nangarhar province when his 101st Airborne Division unit was attacked on April 16.  He was assigned to the 101st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, from Fort Campbell, Ky.
