Maui firefighters contained a brushfire that burned an estimated 10 acres in Olowalu overnight.
The fire was first reported around 8:30 p.m. yesterday above a pig farm in the area. No homes were damaged but, three families living nearby were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Wind last night helped spread the fire, but rain early this morning helped contain the blaze. As of about 8:15 a.m., fire fighters had the fire 100 percent contained. Crews remain on scene to mop up and monitor the situation.
