Kauai firefighters rescue woman from Alakai Swamp Trail

Kauai firefighters rescued a 50-year-old visitor who broke her ankle on Alakai Swamp Trail.
The woman was injured while hiking near the Kilohana lookout, a Kauai County news release said. Another hiker used a cell phone to call for help about 2 p.m. yesterday.
Firefighters aboard a helicopter picked up the woman near the swamp boardwalk about 2:30 p.m. Paramedics picked up the woman from the landing zone and took her to Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
