Strong trades and rough seas have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a small craft advisory for the channels between Oahu, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island.
The winds are the result of a high-pressure system north of the islands, the agency said.
The advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. today.
Winds were estimated at 27 to 35 mph and seas were expected to range from 9 to 14 feet.
